Walla Walla University's School of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Clinical Instructor position. This role focuses on supervising and evaluating nursing students in clinical settings to ensure the development of professional skills and competencies. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting excellence in nursing education and student success.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate students' performance in clinical settings, ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and ethical standards.
- Provide instruction, demonstration, and hands-on training in clinical techniques and procedures as needed.
- Assess and document students' clinical progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, evaluations, and performance.
- Collaborate with clinical site staff to ensure effective learning experiences for students.
- Participate in ongoing nursing education focused professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment and address diverse learning needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Clinical expertise and experience relevant to assigned teaching areas.
Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered RN license in WA and OR (or be eligible for).
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student-centered learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative academic team.
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Capacity to work with students one-on-one and in small groups to support individualized learning.
- Highly organized and adaptable, with the flexibility to respond to changes within the health care and academic system.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel for student visits.
