Walla Walla University's School of Nursing seeks a dedicated and experienced nursing professional to join our faculty as an adjunct faculty member. This role will involve teaching, mentoring, and preparing nursing students to excel as nursing professionals. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with a commitment to student success. This position will collaborate closely with faculty colleagues to deliver high quality, evidence-based education in the classroom. The successful candidate will be a dedicated Christian committed to integrating their faith with teaching and scholarship.
Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned nursing theory or didactic courses in accordance with established syllabi and course outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction through in-person or online modalities as assigned.
- Use varied teaching methods to support diverse learners and foster active student engagement.
- Assess student learning through quizzes, exams, assignments, and participation, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate course records, grades, and documentation in the university's learning management system.
- Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, performance, and support resources.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) required.
- Doctorate in Nursing or related field (DNP, PhD, EdD), preferred.
Experience:
- Clinical expertise and experience relevant to assigned teaching areas.
Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered RN license in OR and WA (or be eligible for).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in classroom, clinical, or simulation settings.
- Clinical or teaching experience in maternal newborn (OB, pediatric, or community/public health nursing).
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student-centered learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative academic team.
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Capacity to work with students one-on-one and in small groups to support individualized learning.
- Highly organized and adaptable, with the flexibility to respond to changes within the health care and academic system.
