Music Teacher

Vista Ridge Academy (VRA) is seeking a part-time music teacher, 15 hours per week.

Job duties include:

• Teach general music classes for students in Grades K–8.
• Develop an instrumental or vocal elective for Grades 5-8, such as choir, orchestra, band, strings, guitar, handbells, or another area of musical expertise.
• Provide strings or other introductory instrumental experiences for younger students, as appropriate.
• Help shape and grow Vista Ridge Academy’s music program based on the teacher’s strengths, interests, and vision.
• Plan and direct Christmas and Spring programs, as well as other musical performances throughout the year.
• Prepare students to perform in local venues and community settings, such as constituent churches, hospitals, senior living communities, and other community events.
• Create opportunities for students to develop confidence, creativity, collaboration, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
