About the job

Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned didactic, clinical, simulation, or lab courses in the undergraduate program
  • Supervise students in clinical settings, promoting safe, ethical, and competent nursing care
  • Collaborate with community agencies to establish and maintain clinical partnerships
  • Advise and mentor students, fostering professional growth
  • Participate in course development, curriculum review and program evaluation activities
  • Participate in School of Nursing and institutional committees, meetings, and other activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment and address diverse learning needs

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) required
  • Doctorate in Nursing or related field (DNP, PhD, EdD), preferred

Experience:

  • Clinical expertise and experience relevant to assigned teaching areas

Licensure:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in WA and OR (or be eligible for)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in classroom, clinical, or simulation settings
  • Clinical or teaching experience in adult medical-surgical nursing or complex acute care nursing. Relevant experience may include medical-surgical, intensive care, progressive/step-down, emergency, or other high-acuity clinical settings

  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student-centered learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative academic team
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Capacity to work with students one-on-one and in small groups to support individualized learning
  • Highly organized and adaptable, with the flexibility to respond to changes within the health care and academic system
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel for student visits
