Position: The Department of Religion at Southwestern Adventist University invites qualifying candidates to apply for a full-time, faculty position in Applied Theology.
Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, and deliver engaging course content for a teaching load of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (typically four on-campus courses)
- Teach two online courses per semester
- Advise Theology and Religion majors and minors
- Maintain a minimum of 8-10 office hours per week to advise, guide, and mentor students
- Communicate with the Department Chair about expectations and duties
- Coordinate the Pastoral Internship Program and provide pastoral mentorship to participating students
- Organize and oversee the Field School of Evangelism for every summer term (typically 5 weeks)
- Be an active member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a minimum of 8 years of ministerial experience
- Must hold at minimum a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from an accredited institution or be actively pursuing a DMin degree
- Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree is preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Experience and expertise in Seventh-day Adventist Church structure, governance, and leadership
- Passion for ministerial education, spiritual formation, and leadership development
- Ability to effectively equip students for pastoral ministry within the Seventh-day Adventist Church
